Costume Jewellery

A lot of women and young girls simply adore jewellery and love to receive it as presents. Here is a basic guide for buying costume jewellery.

We have all seen the dollar store trinkets that more resemble something a child would want to wear. These are very cheap and usually made of plastic or cheap metal and clearly fake. No jewel thief would ever make the mistake of stealing these items. As matter of fact, most children could tell you that they are costume jewellery, especially if they have seen a lot of good jewellery.

The next level is jewelry that costs a bit more but it can still be easily spotted as fake. This is usually of a little better quality though and from a distance might even look like it could be real. This is going to be what you would most likely get for a teenager or friend but you may not want to try and pass this off to your girlfriend or mother and try to make them think it’s real.

For really good costume jewelry you are going to pay as much or more than you would for the real stuff. This will usually be at least gold plated or silver and have cubic zirconia (CZ) as replacement for the gem stones. This is jewelry that most people won’t be able to tell is not real without a trained eye. What this jewellery is for is to look great and not cost as much as a piece that was genuine would.
