Styles come and styles go, but some gold jewelry designs remain constant. As a matter of fact, the chain types of gold necklaces then have changed very little and are still used in the gold necklaces of today. Whether the necklace is worn by a man or a women, worn alone or with pendants, these chains add a certain charm to their wearer’s ensemble.

Box Chain: As the name implies, this chain looks like it is made up of box links — and it is! Small links in the shape of a box are strung together to make the box chain, which looks better with a pendant dangling on it.

Curb Chain: Have you ever worn a necklace with circular links that look like they have been flattened? That is the curb chain. This necklace is often worn by men. In hip hop gold jewelry designs, the curb chain gets an upgrade in the form of bigger links.

Herringbone Chain: A herringbone is intricate enough on its own, and the same holds true for this chain. You don’t need a pendant to complement the herringbone because it’s already lush in detail. It looks as if it has been woven intricately, and will look fabulous on any neckline.

Rolo Chain: Are you looking for a chain that is as stunning as it is sturdy? Meet the rolo chain. It’s made of broad, sturdy circular links that may look fragile but is anything but.

Rope Chain: No, this is not made with rope — but it does look like a rope! Wear long rope chains with a pendant and short rope chains as a choker.

These chains are only a few of what you will find in gold jewelry designs. Which ones have you worn? Which ones are you thinking of wearing soon?
