It’s six o’clock in the morning and I am faced with a dilemma. It’s the same question that plagues me every time that I open my closet: what do I wear? As a college student on a budget, my options aren’t as plentiful as I’d like. Still, unlike some of my schoolmates, I can’t wear a pair of sweatpants to school and be satisfied – especially considering the fact that on most days I go from class, to work, and then go out with friends. 1. Comfort: Preparing for a busy day means one thing: comfort is key, but style should not be sacrificed. The bare bones of any outfit should be something you can lounge in the quad in but not be uncomfortable in if you run into someone important – like a casual dress or a nice blouse. This is useful not just at school for the “campus casual” approach to fashion, but also in the long run for the longevity of your day. Be comfortable and have fun with the most casual part of your day.

2. Professional: Going to work often includes a more streamlined look than going to school, but as long as you didn’t go to school dressed as a slob there’s no need to change into a pencil skirt and blazer before the next leg of your day. You can change out your scarf for a simple silver necklace or a single strand of faux pearls or beads can kick casual up a notch. Sometimes less is more. A more muted look can be ideal when you’re in a professional setting.
